What makes it easy for you to be hopeful? Is it effortless when life is going well, and your circumstances are comfortable? What happens when life turns upside down? Do you still find it easy to be hopeful? Discover some ways to find hope in the future when it seems unpredictable and unknown.
Hope Must Start With God to Endure the Unexpected!
However, to put our hope in God, it will require trusting Him with it all. We have to stop wishing for a better day and trust our Lord with the plan. Is this hard for you to do when the unexpected hits?
Of course, it doesn’t mean we won’t have pain or unfavorable circumstances. He never promised us that here on earth. After all, this is not heaven, and we all know life here on this planet is sometimes hard, painful, and ugly. Maybe you are in a place where you are struggling to hold on to hope.
Hope must start with God to endure the unexpected. However, to put our hope in God, it will require trusting Him with it all. #hope #trust #trustingGod Share on X
Strategies to Make It Easy to Be Hopeful
Anchor to God
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,”
Trust God
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and
lean not on your own understanding;”
Fix Our Eyes on Jesus
“Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends
from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross!
On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him,
He thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and
He is now seated at the right side of God’s throne.”
Meditate on Scripture
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and
my hope is in you all day long.”
Remember What God Has Done
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes,
I will remember your miracles of long ago.”
Seek God
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, have
never forsaken those who seek you.”
Rest in Him
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
My hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
He is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”
Share Your Hope With others
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for He who promised is faithful.”
Recognize We Are Never Alone
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the
Lord our God will be with you wherever you go.”

Remembering God’s faithfulness in the past, resting in the truths of His Word gives me hope. So grateful He holds us close to His heart … maybe especially in these uncertain times. Thanks, Maree …
Linda – What beautiful words you wrote. I am so glad you are resing in His truths. It sure does bring peace. Praying you stay well. Maree
What a great list you put together here, Maree. I’m having to do MANY of these to get through my anxiety. 🙂 But I’m grateful for a God who understands and strengthens us with his peace.
Lisa – Praying right now for you. Anxiety is hard. Maree
Thank you Maree, one scripture quoted in particular got my attention today.
Bless you,
Jennifer
Jennifer, I am so glad a scripture verse got your attention. Praying you and your family stay well. Maree
So thankful our hope is not dependent on our circumstances or our day. We can be full of hope because of him and his steadfastness.
Amen! Beautiful words. I love the thought of being “full of hope.” Stay well. Maree
What a great post by Pam. As I said there, I never put together that all the hard things that happened before WWII helped to make the “Greatest Generation” as hardy as they were. I hope our present trials will help develop our faith and character as well.
What helps me to hope? Just what you’ve done here–going back to God’s Word, reminding myself of the truth He’s taught me before, that He is kind, wise, loving, present, perfectly able to handle what’s going on and work everything together for good.
Barbara, I love your words about our God. We must keep reminding each other what a loving, wonderful God we have. Praying you and your family stay well. Maree
Maree,
I needed to start my day with the scripture you quoted. Perfect verses to meditate upon in these trying times. May a hedge of protection be around you and yours!
Blessings,
Bev xx
Bev,
I am so glad the scripture was just what you needed to hear. I love it when God does that. I am praying protection over you and yours too. Maree
