When you live a life, you never expected jealousy could creep in fast. You look around at others with what you once hoped and dreamed of having. In those times, is envy a problem in your friendships?
It is hard! We want to be happy for others living our dream, but our loss is vast. However, if we are not careful, we will be left standing all alone in our circumstances wondering where our friendships have gone.
Rebecca Hastings, wrote a beautiful post last week full of wisdom and vulnerability on the death of a friendship. She eloquently points out –
Every time we use our longing and insecurity as a weapon someone gets hurt. More often than not, that person is us. Rebecca Hastings
She stirred a desire in me to dig a little deeper to see how I may have chipped away at my friendships over time. Yes, envy destroys, and we don’t want to let it rob us of the friendships God desires for us.
I hope you will click over and read our featured post this week and find out how each of us can combat the problem of envy in our friendships.
