White Chapel | Let’s not stop discovering our blessing. Perhaps, a few favorite thanksgiving verses will help to maintain a grateful heart?

Gratitude can change our mindset and outlook on life. A Few Favorite Thanksgiving Verses to Maintain a Grateful Heart can be a powerful guide, helping us focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout the year.

Let’s embrace scripture as reminders to seek blessings and give thanks daily. Here are a few of my favorite verses that keep my heart anchored in gratitude:

A Few Favorite “Thanksgiving” Verses

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

(Psalm 27:13 NIV)

“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”

(Mark 14:22 NIV)

“The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”

(Psalm 145:9 KJV)

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable Gift!”

(2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV)

Observing our blessings will make a difference in our overall well-being. However, we don’t want to stop there. It is equally important to express gratitude towards our Lord, the one responsible for the gifts. Scripture can certainly help turn our minds towards what we have and away from what we lack.

An attitude of gratitude will do wonders for the soul all year long. #embracegratitude #thanksgiving #gratitude Share on X

Personally, I like to incorporate gratitude into my daily time with God. I start with prayer each morning, acknowledging and thanking God for three blessings, as mentioned in “How to Approach God in a Simple New Way.” I love how Karen Friday encourages us to live with a thankful heart all year long—“ThanksLiving is ThanksGiving supercharged and supersized.”

How will you incorporate or continue a daily practice of thanking God for all He has given you? Will you try a few favorite Thanksgiving verses to maintain a grateful heart?

Now, it’s your turn. Share your favorite scripture that keeps your heart grateful. Let’s inspire each other and cultivate gratitude through scripture and community sharing during this Thanksgiving season!

    1. Thank you, Michele, and Amen! Lately, I haven’t been in scripture enough, and I’ve noticed a difference. But I’m back on track this week. Maree

We don’t have a Thanksgiving Day here in Australia but I love the concept.
Of course we can be thankful to the Lord daily.
    My verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 .

    1. Jennifer,

Yes, a thankful heart daily is key. However, I wish you did have a day of Thanksgiving in Australia. It is my favorite holiday.

      Blessings,

  3. Maree, I’ve always loved Psalm 27:13, especially because of the confidence and trustfulness the psalmist is sure of in seeing God’s goodness. And I agree with your thought about meditating on scripture helping us maintain a thankful heart. I appreciate you highlighting my article today. Thank you so much.
