1. Reflect on the Meaning of Christmas

Will you take a moment with me to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and let Jesus set the stage for creating memorable moments with Him and those dear to your heart.

It is easy to say, “Jesus is the reason for the season,” but do your actions reflect the true meaning of Christmas? If the holiday frenzy has overwhelmed you, perhaps It is time to recalibrate. #Jesus #christmas #overwhelmed

Watch out; the overwhelm can catch up quickly. After an ugly outburst fueled by stress, I left the house in a tizzy. Overwhelmed by the holiday frenzy, interrupted plans, and a long to-do list, I called back to my husband and rattled off a few more tasks. He patiently listened and calmly said, “Oh, I thought you were calling back to apologize.” That moment reminded me to refocus.

Look at how you’re filling your days this month; they may reveal what you’ve made the meaning of Christmas to be. Remember, it is never too late to refocus on Jesus and unleash the true magic of Christmas in Your Heart. Plus, he offers so much grace.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(John 3:16 NIV)

2. Open the Best Gift Ever

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV)

Is Jesus like an unopened gift under your tree, waiting for the perfect time to unwrap? Jesus is, for now, don’t wait for life to slow down, circumstances to improve, or your to-do list to shrink.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6 ESV)

How will you open up the gift of Jesus this season? It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Consider starting your day with a Christmas devotional or journaling a letter to God.

The magic of Christmas starts with Him. 🌟Let go of the holiday frenzy and embrace the peace and light Jesus offers. Find six ways to make this Christmas unforgettable. #Jesus #Christmas

3. Remember, Jesus is the Light of the World

Jesus is the Light of the World. He can shine brightly in our hearts and illuminate the true meaning of Christmas for all to see. Ask Him to shine His light into your life and light your path. And then be that light for others. You can read more about this in our article—“How to Be a Light in This Dark World.”

“Even in the darkest times, when we can’t see His hand, the brilliant light of Christ shines with hope and guides us onward.”

—Sheila Walsh

4. Release What’s in the Way

Are your expectations stifling the spirit of Christmas? Why not let go of what you expected the holidays to look like and put your trust in God? Let him usher in the joy of the season. After all, His plan may be better than anything you imagined.

“But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law.”

5. Reflect on What You Love Most About God

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel.”
(Matthew 1:23 NIV)

What do you cherish most about God and Christmas? For me, it’s His promise that we are never alone. After all, they called the baby “Immanuel,” which means God is with us.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
(Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV)

6. Slow Down to Take in the Magic of Christmas

In the holiday rush, it’s easy to overlook the simple joys that make Christmas magical. Let’s slow down together and savor time with Jesus and loved ones. By pausing to soak in the laughter, the smiles, the decorations, and the shared moments, we can fully embrace the spirit of Christmas and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Unleash the True Magic of Christmas in Your Heart

Amid the hustle and bustle of the holidays, let’s not miss the true spirit of Christmas. It all starts with Jesus. Remember that He is the light of the world, the reason for the season, and always with us. Release your expectations, slow down, and unleash the magic of Christmas.

As Ann Voskamp beautifully said,

“I want a Christmas that whispers Jesus. ”
