Do you treat each day as a gift or take it for granted? I do a little of both. Sometimes I rush to start my day and forget how blessed I am. Other times I recognize and cherish the gift of a new day.
When I have a challenging day, I can hardly wait to close my eyes at night, knowing I will start all over tomorrow. I can erase the mistakes and give it another whirl at getting things right.
There is a verse I cling to often. It reminds me God created this particular day. This scripture gives me the desire to be on the lookout for everything good I can pull from this day. It doesn’t matter what our circumstances are we can always find something good in it.
When I came across Nicole’s post last week, my heart began singing – thinking of each day as a gift. She has a sweet way of reminding us all how each day holds so much possibility. I began humming the song. “This is the day……
“Each day is a gift from our Lord. Each day is an opportunity for us to live out His will as His daughters. It is time for us to rejoice each morning!” Nicole Crone

I live by this creed;
Yesterday has gone forever,
tomorrow may never come,
today is all we ever have…
God has made it & it is a gift…
so I endeavor to give Him glory in each day that is today! 😀
Blessings to you Maree,
Jennifer

Yes….it is good to be thankful.
Tomorrow is not promised and life passes by so quickly.
Amen! You are so right tomorrow is not promised. Maree
I am working to cultivate that gratitude discipline. Thanks for the reminder that I should be grateful for every day. laurensparks.net
Lauren – I am right there with you. We can all benefit from continuing to work on gratitude no matter how grateful we are. Blessings, Maree
Too often we spend time lamenting over the past and longing for the future, and in the process, we miss the present and all that each day offers. Thanks for the reminder that we do need “to rejoice and be glad” every day!
Karen, Yes, I agree we miss so much of the present. It is one of my life challenges. I get hung up in preparing for the future. Maree
Thank you for the reminder to “treat each day as a gift”. I do a little of both too – take it for granted and be thankful for each day. My best days, however, always begin with some gratitude.
Laurie, I love seeing your picture pop up that you have left a comment. Your comments always add wisdom to our conversations. I have to agree, my best days always start with gratitude. Maree
