Valentine’s Day is filled with reminders of love—cards, flowers, chocolates, and heartfelt words. But even on a day dedicated to love, we sometimes feel unseen, unworthy, or unloved. Maybe we find ourselves without a love interest, so we think this day is not for us. But what about God’s love?
Yet, the truth is, we don’t have to chase after love or earn it. We already have the greatest love of all—the love of God. It’s pure, unshakable, and unconditional. His love isn’t based on how we feel, what we do, or how well we measure up. It simply is.

God’s Love, Given Freely
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
(I John 4:9-11 NIV)
Do You Ever Try to Hide from God?
There are days when I feel unlovable—when I struggle to love others or even myself. On those days, sometimes I try to hide from God as if I could somehow keep Him from seeing the real me. But that never works. Hiding deepens my misery.
“No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you.
— Franklin Graham
He has not abandoned you.”
But here’s the beautiful truth—God’s love isn’t something we have to deserve. He freely gives it to us. When I finally stop running and allow myself to rest in His presence, I close my eyes and picture myself in the arms of Jesus. And in that sacred moment, I hear Him whisper, “Maree, you are so loved, no matter what.”
And friend, He is saying the same to you.
"..I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
(Jeremiah 31:3 NIV)
Rest in His Love Today
God’s love is always available, always present, always pursuing us. He adores you—just as you are—no conditions, requirements, or proving yourself worthy.
You are not loved because you are valuable. You are valuable because you are loved.”
— Roy Lessin
So, whether your heart is full or feeling a little empty, take a moment to pause this Valentine’s Day. Let yourself soak in the love of the One who will never leave, never fail us, and never stop loving you.
Share His Love with Others
And here’s the beautiful part—when we fill ourselves with God’s love, we can’t help but pour it out to those around us.

“Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 8:39 NIV)
The King of Love has sought after us. Can you think of a better love than this?
💗 Happy Valentine’s Day! 💗

Your questions about pulling away from/hiding from God made me think of Psalm 139 and how we cannot escape His presence. Great post! Thanks for the linkup!
Amy,
Yes! Thank you for sharing the Psalm. I went to my Bible and read it. It’s interesting that today our pastor gave a message on Psalm 139.
One of my favorite things about God is that He is always with us.
