Do you ever find yourself in a place where you feel imperfect and not enough? You wonder, “Why was I chosen for this task when others could do it with more talent and finesse?” If so, you are going to love our featured post today. It is hope-filled, and something all of us need to hear from time to time.
But first, let me share a tidbit of my quest for the perfect pumpkin.
I leaned into the big box, moving pumpkin after pumpkin searching for the perfect one. They were heavy, and my efforts seemed futile. Every once in a while I would raise my head and glance around to make sure no one was watching. It wasn’t exactly the prettiest pose.
All of the pumpkins were bruised, dirty and far from perfect. They seemed to represent how I was feeling about myself. Honestly, I gave up and went home without one. They all seemed unacceptable.
Yikes, – Could you imagine if God did that to us? Instead, he reminds us over and over again –
God loves us no matter what!
Let that sink in a bit and then head over to read our featured post today from Crystal Twaddell. She has forever changed my mind on how I will choose the perfect pumpkin. I will proudly let the bruises show and remember –
“God doesn’t choose us because we’re perfect, but because we are beautifully imperfect.” Crystal Twaddell

Thank you so much for the feature, Maree Dee! I absolutely love the experience you described in your own pumpkin search, and it’s a place we all find ourselves at one time or another. Learning to embrace the beauty of our own imperfections is a constant goal because in this, we experience the perfect love the Father. Imperfect is so endearing! Hugs, Crystal
Crystal, What beautiful words. Not only was your post fantastic so is your comment. It was an honor to feature your post. I loved it. Blessings, Maree
I always think how God sees us, He created us…& knobbly bits & all He still loves us… sobering thoughts 😀
Jennifer
It is a sobering thought. One that makes me smile BIG as I reply to you. Thank you for leaving your thoughts. Maree
Your pumpkin story was a great analogy. We are all bruised, misshapen and otherwise imperfect, but we are all loved beyond measure through grace.
Yes, we are all imperfect but loved. Isn’t it amazing to sit with that thought? Thank you for stopping by. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Maree
