Do you know how to be silly? It is so easy to get caught up in the seriousness of life and quit laughing and being silly.Do you know how to be silly?  Do you ever wonder if you have lost the ability to let loose a little and have fun? I miss the days of small children at my feet who bring out the silliness in me. It is so easy to get caught up in the seriousness of life and quit laughing and being silly.

Would you believe I pray for laughter?

When life seems to get a little too much on the serious side, I ask God to send me a little laughter and silliness. He always delivers. Share on X

Do you know how to be silly? It is so easy to get caught up in the seriousness of life and quit laughing and being silly.

I am trading seriousness for silliness for a few days. How about you?

Please share with us a few ways you know how to be silly and bring laughter into your life.

Over the next few weeks, I  will be taking a short break to allow time to find my creative side and work on a project which is dear to my heart. Of course,  I will also take a few days to be silly. You probably won’t even notice I am gone. However, a few minor things will change.

Grace and Truth Link-Up will still be here each Friday, so don’t go anywhere. However, we will not have a featured post on “Embracing the Unexpected” until July 19th. Please do stop by and post one of your favorites articles from the week. You can also visit the other hosts and see what fantastic posts they have chosen to highlight.

Now for this week’s link up! Let’s bless and encourage one another.

Grace & Truth : A Weekly Christian Link Up Grace & Truth exists to point people to Jesus! We hope this link-up will be a source of encouragement every week. 1. Great post! I can be a little on the serious side unless I’m having fun with my grandchildren! Then there’s lots of love, hugs & laughter! 😀
    Bless you Maree,
    Jennifer

    1. I bet grandchildren are the best to be silly with and you get great hugs. I don’t have any grandchildren quite yet, but my neighbor does so I get a little bit of peekaboo and laughter over there.

  2. I likely need to take your advice to be silly more often. I tend more toward the serious side so there are times I just need to lighten up. 🙂

  3. Years ago, at some revivals i heard about holy laughter would break out. Do not grieve, the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10, see how we can grieve ourselves and the Spirit, we all need to laugh, some times to keep from crying, but he has the tears too. Psalm 56:8, let have some tears of joy though.

    1. Yes!!! Thank you for adding those scriptures. Laughter is so good for the soul! Maree

  4. I love being “able to be” silly! I say that because at 71, that tends to NOT be the way we are “supposed to be!” But those supposed to bes are not the way we always want to be or even should be. I have found myself circling myself with children as they give me so much delight. I can be silly with them and with one of my own sisters. But she lives many many miles away so that does not happen so much over the phone. It is when we are together. Thanks for encouraging my heart today.

    1. Linda – I agree, we need to be silly at any age. Whenever the word “supposed to” comes out of my mouth I know somethings amiss. I see “flashing red lights,” which warn me to take a closer look. Thank you for sharing. Maree

    1. Barbara, Thank you, I agree, thank you for sharing the wise Proverbs. Blessings, Maree

  5. I’m just returning from a break myself, so I know how rejuvenating it can be to take time away from the writing and the posting. Blessings to you as you sink deep roots in God’s Word and in His love for you.

    1. Thank you, Michele. I am praying for you as you jump back in. I hope you had a wonderful break. Maree
