How to Let Love Reign in Your Heart

Reset your love tank by considering these six steps:

1. Soak in God’s Love

Any moment is a fantastic time to cease striving and embrace the lavish, unwavering love God offers. He wants us to live our lives close to Him. After all, He sent His Son as a gift to bring us everlasting life. We can rest in Him, knowing we are not alone—Jesus is always with us.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:16 NIV)

Contemplate the profound meaning of this familiar verse. Slowly read the scripture and imagine, would you be willing to sacrifice your child? Who loves like that? Only God. And He gives us eternal life when we absolutely don’t deserve such a gift. I’d say we are loved.

2. Reflect on the Goodness of God

Never stop looking for how God has blessed you. Count those blessings; as you do, it will help you see how valuable you are to the Lord.

When we practice gratitude daily, we will see God’s love.

Remember to Take the Time to Remember the Best Gift Ever—Jesus, not only at Christmas but all year long.

3. Let God’s Love Flow Through You

Blessings abound when we extend love to others. Cultivate a habit of looking for opportunities to love those around you, even when it seems challenging. Unconditional love, while difficult, is achievable with Jesus’ help.

Society often encourages us to cut off anyone who doesn’t deserve our kindness. However, is that God’s way? After all, He sent his son when we were still sinners..

The Lord might ask you to love someone unconditionally, which will be difficult. You may even question if you are a fool. Unconditional love is challenging but not impossible. However, we can love like Jesus with His help.

4. Keep Your Focus on Jesus

Sometimes, love might feel unattainable to receive or give out. In those times when life hurts, we must focus on Jesus. The saying holds true:

You may never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.

(2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV)

5. Love God Wholeheartedly

The best way to let love reign in your heart this Christmas and beyond is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. After all, He is the unwavering source that will never leave us.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind
and with all your strength.“

(Mark 12:30 ESV)
