Do you underestimate your value in making a difference in the lives of others? Maybe you think you have nothing to offer. However, we each can make a difference in the lives of others.
Sometimes we become stuck trying to determine the best way to make a difference – that we end up doing nothing. Taking meals to people is one of those areas where I feel lost. I get so hung up on what they will like or what they can eat that I end up not preparing anything.
But one day someone showed up with a meal when I needed it. I discovered it had little to do with a meal and much more to do with their smiling faces that said, “I care about you.”
What you may consider as insignificant may be what another person needs.
It can be as simple as a smile, a conversation, or anything which says I care about you.
To make a difference in the lives of someone else we have to quit looking at ourselves and concentrating on our flaws. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but you must be willing to do something.
Susan Mead linked a beautiful post last week with this in mind. She reminds us we can help others when we tap into God’s power. She shared characters from the Bible when God gave them strength to do great things in spite of their insecurities or flaws.
“In this world, you can make a difference, and God has a plan for your life.” Susan Mead

A simple meal…so simple. And funny enough, something on my list for helping a local family. Time to go sign up. Visiting today via Kelly Balarie’s linkup.
Kristi, Hope the meal you make is easy. I am sure it will be comforting to the family. Maree
Fears and insecurity can stop us from doing a lot of things and that’s exactly what the enemy wants. Knowing our identity in Christ can help combat that. This is wonderful encouragement to reach out to someone in love.
Yes, I agree about knowing our identity in Christ is key. Thank you for adding your comment.
I agree. We underestimate what the smallest gestures can mean to someone. laurensparks.net
Lauren, The truth is it is the small gestures I usually remember the most. How about you? Maree
Thank you for the gentle nudge to get out of our comfort zones and pay the blessings forward to others in need. It is what God calls us to do!
Yes, it is sometimes had to get out of our comfort zones but so worth it. I tend to overthink things. Maree
