Thanks so much for sharing my post this week, Maree! Being outside is still bringing me peace, despite the heat and humidity of August in Kansas. 🙂 Isn’t it comforting to see God’s creation maintaining its usual schedule when everything in life seems to be off kilter? Blessings to you this week, my friend.
Lois, It was an honor to share your post. It resonated with so many people. Yes, I love the fact that God is maintaining His schedule. I am glad you can enjoy being outside even in the humidity. My Aunt lives in Great Bend, and I visit every so often. I hope you have a great week. Maree
Thank you, Maree, for this lovely article from Lois! I am no stranger to unexpected times and find my peace outside in nature. God reveals Himself to us through His creation. Not only do the heavens declare the glory of God, but the fragrance of a summer evening, the sweet song of the cardinals in my backyard and the intricacy of the colors of the sunset softly speak His name to my soul. Nothing brings me more peace than drawing near to God in his way.
Donna, I am right there with you. However, you described it is so beautiful in your comment – “the fragrance of a summer evening, the sweet song of the cardinals in my backyard and the intricacy of the colors of the sunset softly speak His name to my soul.” Thank you! Maree
Maree, good morning! Lois is a favorite … I’m a big fan! So happy to see her featured today …
Linda, I am right there with you. Lois has beautiful words to inspire. Maree
God’s Word is the first thing that gives me peace. Then, knowing His character contributes to my peace. And my past experience with Him helps me peace. We can’t always figure out what He’s doing or even always sense Him near, but we know that He is, and that He is wise, kind, capable, and good.
Barbara,
Thank you for sharing what gives you peace. Yes, God is wise, kind, capable, and good. I often pray to feel God’s presence, but knowing He is there even when I don’t feel it a truth I hang on to. I love that God’s word gives you peace and knowing His character. You have encouraged me this week to ponder His character and write down His attributes. Thank you!
