Thanks for sharing Donna’s post. She offers good advice for all of us, because surely we all get discouraged at one time or another. And in 2020, we’ve had lots of opportunities for disappointments.
Lisa –
Yes, 2020, sure has been a year of disappointments. We all need her wise words. I hope you had a good holiday weekend in spite of it being different. Maree
Keeping my focus on Him – I know that when unrest comes, when fear comes – that I have dropped my eyes! Last year, when my husband went through a valve replacement and lobe removal for cancer – He kept us wrapped in a veil of protection – we just kept our eyes focused on Him. When fear tried to creep in, we looked to Him, to His word and He took care of the battle!
Maryleigh, Thank you for sharing. I love hearing stories about people who keep their eyes fixed on Jesus. It sounds as if the battle was won too. Praising God with you. Maree
Yes, we all need to rejuvenate & refresh when we find ourselves disappointed. Also we need to reflect on why we were disappointed… the expectations we had of the situation…is God still working & not finished yet?
Bless you Maree,
Jennifer
Jennifer,
I love your thoughts on reflecting on why we are disappointed and whether God is still working. Blessings to you, Maree
I think Donna hit the nail on the head. We need both physical and spiritual refreshment and rest. Oftentimes I know I am lacking in one or the other. Or both.
Theresa,
Yes, Donna did a great job of inspiring us in both physical and spiritual refreshment and rest. I am trying hard to cover both of those in my daily life. I, too, many times lack one or the other. Thank you for sharing with us in the comments. I always love what you have to say. Maree
Maree Dee, thank you so much for highlighting my post on discouragement. I’m blessed and honored to be featured here. And Grammye, thanks so much for your kind words. I loved what you said about the importance of adjusting our mindsets. How we think “about” some situation goes a long way to helping with our feelings and responses. Blessings to all the hosts as we move forward trusting God in these challenging times.
Donna,
It was an honor to feature you. Your words were so inspiring. Happy Fourth of July! Blessings, Maree
I LOVED Donna’s post on discouragement. How can discouragement be so powerful over us, especially right after God shows His presence and power?
Recognizing it is difficult but she covered that, and also the path to adjusting our mindset.
Managing our thought life is so important.
Working hard on exactly that these months, creating those habits that make me look at my mindset for correctness.
Thanks to all of you for such important work on my heart.
I am so glad you hopped over and read Donna’s post and then came back to comment. I agree; our thought life is so important to manage. You have inspired me to work on that today! Maree
