When You Need Strength to Persist

God Will Provide and Equip

Amen.”

When we question our capabilities to persist with God’s intentions, it usually leaves us fearful, and we lose our momentum. In today’s feature post, Lynn Simpson points out—

“When we doubt our abilities, we are placing our focus on ourselves. When we allow the troubles of this world (and there will always be troubles) to dishearten us, we are relying on our own strength. We lose hope.”

However, Lynn doesn’t leave us there; she beautifully shares where we need to turn. Perhaps, her words will help you persist in pursuing God’s will for your life.

  1. Every single scripture you reference is powerful. One of my go to scriptures is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:1. No matter what the Lord places before me I know that He comes with me!!

    1. That is one of my go to scriptures too. I can’t tell you how often I have recited that one when tackling something that seemed impossible.Thank you for sharing a verse and your words of encouragement. One of my favorite attributes of the Lord is that He is always with me, and I can’t imagine life without Him. Thank you for being part of our conversation. Maree

    1. What a beautiful verse that spoke to my heart.Thank you for sharing. I agree He will only ask us to do what is good and right. Maree
The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying:
      “I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

  2. Great post, Maree. I love all these scriptures! I rest in the fact that HE will empower me to do what He has laid on my heart to do.

    1. Jerralea, I love your comment, “I rest in the fact that HE will empower me to do what He has laid on my heart to do.” Thank you for sharing. I wrote it up, posted it next to my scripture for the week, and then shared it on social media. Your words encouraged me. Maree

  3. Each of these passages spoke to me today. I struggle with writing the book God has called me to. I’m going to write some of these down and post them in the places I write. Thank you for being God led.

    1. Thank you for sharing your goal. I, too, struggle with writing a book that God has asked me to write. These verses were with that in mind. I am praying for you as you tackle God’s will. Blessings, Maree

  4. Besides the Hebrews passage you mentioned, one that I lean on a lot is 2 Corinthians 9:8: “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”

2 Peter 1:3-4 encourages me, maybe not with every project and plan, but with God’s overarching desire for me to live for Him: “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

    1. Barbara, I love it when you add your wisdom to our comments. The verses you added are fabulous. I will add them to my list for future reference. Thank you. Maree

  5. God worked through you today! I have been trying to figure out how not to be so tired after my work day to intentionally work toward my goals. Do I drink coffee in the afternoon? But maybe it is not looking for the energy physically that I need, but spiritually! Instead of trying to find a way to push through, I can read God’s word, pray and He will give me the strength (or rest) I require to do His will. Thank you for putting these bible verses together.

    1. Lynn, You are so welcome. I am glad you liked the scripture. Your words helped me too. I seem to quickly forget all the pushing doesn’t get me as far as resting with God. Tomorrow I plan to rest with God instead of powering through more work. Blessings, Maree
