Do you ever dwell on what could go wrong? Does it keep you stuck in a place of paralysis or fully living the life you could? Today our featured writer, Liz Giertz shares with us how to transform yourself from terrified to brave.
Terrified to Make a Decision
Have you ever had a time in your life when you needed to make an important decision but found yourself unable to move forward because you were so afraid of the outcome? Your mind keeps going to the worst case scenario and you find yourself stuck.
One particular time I froze and refused to move forward in making a decision. I knew the right answer but feared it would cause another person NEVER to want me in their life anymore. The pain was intense as I mulled this over and over in my mind.
Then a friend was brave enough to say, “Let’s go there.” She encouraged me to name my worst case scenario. We then chatted about what it might look like should it come true. As we talked through my fears of what might happen, I began to recognize doing nothing would be far worse. Not only this truth was revealed but the fact that God would be with me every step of the way. I no longer needed to be terrified.
