Have you ever had someone in your life who cherished you beyond the norm? If so, you know what a rare and precious treasure that can be. Of course, we all want to be adored, and maybe we are and don’t even realize it.
A Gift
Recently I received some old letters written a long time ago by one of my favorite Uncles. Over the years, stories have been told of how much he adored me and treated me like a princess. My memories are few due to the fact I was just a little girl when a heart attack took him from my life.
Last week, I sat at my kitchen table, pouring over each letter and taking in every word he wrote. My heart was filled with a love for this man as he told stories of tea parties, overnight stays, and shopping sprees with his favorite girl. I was the child he never had, and I loved every darn minute of being with him.
One memory I have etched in my brain was when he built me a special seat on top of the armrest in his great big car. It allowed me to see out and sit right next to him as he drove me around. I may not have been able to remember all of the things he mentioned in his letters, but the mere mention of his name always brought a warm feeling deep within my heart, and I knew he adored me.
Loved Unconditionally
To be loved unconditionally by another human was unbelievable. As tears dropped on the pages, I wondered what life would have been like had he not gone to heaven so soon.
I think we all need someone like my Uncle in our lives. However, here on earth, it is rare to find that in another human. Life happens, disappointment comes, and we make mistakes. Remember, I was just a little girl and hadn’t had time to disappoint my special Uncle. Maybe it would have looked different over time.
While feeling a little nostalgic, I read a wonderful article from Tammy Kennington, which reminded me we all have someone like that in our lives. All we have to do is reach out.
We Are Adored by God
We have a heavenly father who adores us more than any human ever could here on earth Share on X.
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5 (NIV)
We may know Jesus loves us, but do we allow those feelings to soak in and wash over us? Do we sit still in His love long enough to understand it? Or do we get stuck in believing the lies which whisper we are unworthy?
Do you feel adored by God?
Don’t you want to tap into those feelings of being loved by Jesus? I hope when you read our featured post this week, it will inspire you to want to dance with Jesus. It sure reminded me of the beautiful feeling of having Jesus wrap me up in His love and arms.
Jesus adores you, and He wants the next dance. Will you dance with Jesus? Share on X

“When laughter abounds, and praise flows with ease, I slip into the presence of Christ. We dip and turn; I can almost imagine a smile of pleasure splitting His face because I’m learning to follow His lead more and more.” – Tammy Kennington

Yes, I have Maree, my late husband absolutely adored me & I found it so very special & so healing as I had been a very difficult relationship before we got together, sadly he too went to heaven. But the sweet memories are always with me…& God’s love continues to surround me.

Beautiful, Maree! It’s a gift to be the recipient of such love, and may God enable us to value the privilege as we should.

Getting hold of Ephesians 1:6 about being “accepted in the Beloved” (NKJV) years ago did a lot for my feelings of security. There’s no love like His, and basking in His enables us to love more like we’ve been loved.
Barbara – Thank you for sharing. I agree we can love a ton more when we accept God’s love. Blessings, Maree
“To the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Ephesians 1:6
