Would like to know what matters the most when other people hit a dead end in life? Honestly, it is probably the same thing that helps you when you feel like you have nowhere to turn. Think back to the times when you thought you had reached a dead end.

What did others give you that helped the most?

Hands down for me it was someone else showing up.

When I think back, I can barely remember the problem or how it was solved.  What I remember is the presence of those that stood by either by phone, text, prayer, or sitting right next to me.

However, when someone’s problems look bigger than what we can tackle – we many times pull away thinking we have nothing to offer. But this is not true, we all have something to offer, and it is quite simple.

All you have to do is be present. We tend to underestimate the power of our presence.

Lisa Burgess shared a touching post with us last week about a man named Charles who lived at the end of a dead end street. She and a team showed up even though they thought the job was more extensive than their skill set. In turn, they all received something of value.

“When we carve a path out for others, it brings light to our path as well.”
“When you can’t see a way out, look way up.”
“There are no dead ends that God can’t break through.”

– Lisa Burgess

  1. I certainly have had friends show up for me when I have reached a dead end in life. I think the thing that helps me most is to sit quietly and listen for the small, stlll voice of God telling me what to do next.

    1. Laurie, I agree sitting quietly is the best. Yet, sometimes it is the hardest. I love it too when my friends ask me, “Have you gone to God first?” Maree

  2. Thanks for the welcome. I’m honored to be part of such a great ministry. I loved reading Lisa’s post last week. It was so good. Looking forward to what’s ahead.

    1. Michele – I am glad you got to see it. I hope your break was for the soul and it wasn’t a forced one. If forced for some reason let me know, and I will be praying for you. Glad you are back. Blessings, Maree

  3. Thanks for sharing my post, Maree. I can still cry when I think about sweet Charles. He was such a beautiful reminder that even when things look the worst, God will show up somehow, someway!

    1. Lisa – I cried too, and I wasn’t even there. I am always amazed when I step out of my comfort zone to help someone else God blesses me beyond what I could imagine. I am so glad you wrote this post, and I could feature it here today.
