Wishing you a Merry Christmas 2020. Hoping you find joy in your day, love in your heart, and Jesus as the most valuable present you unwrap this holiday season.
We can find joy in our circumstances. God is with us and will help us to embrace life in the midst of the unexpected. Jesus is the best gift to unwrap today.
Featured Post
Today, our featured post is from Barbara Harper. She wrote about one of my favorite topics—Jesus as the light. It is something we can carry forward beyond Christmas.

Following your hosts via their blog and social media channels is not mandatory, but appreciated!
Leave 1-2 of your most recent Christian Living posts. Please do not link DIY, Crafts, Recipes, etc. We will delete these links. We also reserve the right to remove articles that don’t align with the theme or are deemed by the hostesses to be inappropriate.
Visit 1-2 other links and leave a meaningful comment! We want to encourage community among us, so please don’t link and run!
We sort all links randomly – feel free to link as early or as late as you’d like. The playing field is even!

Hi Maree,
I have a question about envy, and thought you might know the answer or have some insight into this.
This will be difficult to put into words, but I’ll try.
Is envy, without any ill will, still a sin. Let’s say person A is ugly. Person B is beautiful. Person A likes how person B looks and desires to look as nice as person B. Person A doesn’t wish Person B wasn’t beautiful. Person A just wants to be beautiful also.
The Bible says that envy means wanting to take what you want away from the other person. The above example doesn’t want to take anything the other has. One person just wants the same for themselves.
What do you think about this?
Thanks Maree and may God bless you, in Jesus name, Amen.
You ask a hard question. The strange thing is I thought I responded however, I don’t see my response. I am definitely not an expert on this, so this is only my opinion. If we look at what others have (beauty, things, etc.) and it causes our heart to be discontent with what we have, then yes, it might very well be a sin. God wants us to be content. However, noticing someone else’s beauty by itself would not be envy. Ken – this is only my opinion. I could be flat out wrong. Maree
I hope you had a Merry Christmas. I loved your post. Lights are my second favorite decoration. This year my son put them up all over the backyard. It is beautiful. But most of all, I love the fact that Jesus is the light of the world. Happy New Year to you. Maree
